As an experienced leader in both the nonprofit and corporate sectors, Monica brings her flair for innovation and her passion to grow an organization's effectiveness and reach to her role as Chief Administrative Officer. From utilizing the power of data analytics and big data to position companies to make better decisions to revolutionizing processes with automation and controls, her consistent focus on excellence has benefitted the multiple businesses she has engaged with over her career. Prior to joining Arkos, she often filled the roles of many C-level roles through her work as Managing Partner at The MoCA Group, helping her clients elevate to the next level.
Prior to venturing out on her own, Monica worked as CEO/Executive Director of A Shelter for Cancer Families (ASCF). There she oversaw a very pivotal time in the organization’s history, as they acquired their own campus to further the mission of providing shelter, stability, and support to cancer families. Having multiple close encounters with family members and friends impacted by the life-changing diagnoses of cancer, she was inspired by the work of ASCF and established the operational excellence needed for the organization to build and expand the reach of the resources that are available for those seeking shelter from the storms that cancer can wage on a family.
Prior to her employment with ASCF, Ms. Agostinelli served as Vice President of Internal Audit for WM (formerly Waste Management). There she was responsible for the Internal Audit function, providing risk oversight to over 1000 business units across 17 market areas. Additionally, she coordinated the company’s Enterprise Risk Management program with the General Council. During her tenure as VP of Internal Audit, she implemented a data analytics program that automated much of the control monitoring related to fraudulent activity. Her focus on process improvement led her team to identify $20M+ in cost savings through process transformation and improved controls. Finally, with the institution of contract reviews of the top three vendors, over
$10M+ of identified recoveries or cost savings were realized. Before transitioning into the Finance organization of WM, Monica served as Senior Manager for Collection Operations. In that capacity, she provided analytical support to the business identifying opportunities for cost reductions and operational improvements.
Ms. Agostinelli received her Master in Business Administration from the University of Houston, and a B.S. in Bioengineering from Texas A&M University.
In her free time, Monica enjoys flexing her creative muscle with interior design and renovation as well as volunteering with several charitable causes. She has served in numerous volunteer capacities from Finance and Fundraising chairman for her church to Advocates of Children in the Arts (Harlem). She currently serves as the Finance and Fundraising chairman for her church and on the Fort Bend Young Life Committee (Board). She has also served the Houston Ballet Guild, Southminster School, the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, and the Junior League of New York City. Monica and her husband, Chris, have two children - Aiden and Annalise - who are the entertainment and joy of their lives.
